RENTAL CONDITIONS AND TERMS. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOUR SAUNA RENTAL.
Whistler Sauna Rentals Inc., operating as Sauna Sessions: Whistler. Mobile Sauna Rental.
Parties and acknowledgements
This Rental Agreement must be signed by the principal “Renter,” i.e. the individual who holds the reservation/booking and/or pays the majority of the rental fee. The Renter must have reached the age of majority (19 years of age in British Columbia). Whistler Sauna Rentals Inc. (“the Company”) is the “Owner/Releasee.”
I, the undersigned, understand and agree that sauna use may pose a risk. I am aware of these risks, and I have read, understood and signed the Whistler Sauna Rentals Inc. “RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISK” before use.
I, the undersigned, understand and agree that I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR ADDITIONAL GUESTS not accounted for by Whistler Sauna Rentals Inc. at the time of booking, and that I assume all risks associated with additional guests using the sauna. I will share copies of the “RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISK” with any additional, unaccounted-for guests to read, understand and sign should they choose to participate.
I, the undersigned, understand and agree that I will ensure any minor is accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult, that both have read, understood and signed the “RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISK,” and that copies of this document have been left in my care should any unaccounted-for minors wish to participate.
I, the undersigned, understand and agree that sauna use and human physiology vary for every individual, and that I have no underlying medical conditions that may disqualify me from sauna use. If I am uncertain, I will do my own research and consult a physician or other qualified health professional before use.
Prohibited substances, use and activities
No metal jewellery (may burn skin), alcohol, smoking, cannabis or other drugs, food, metal, sharp objects, or breakables (glassware or glass equivalents, ceramics) are to be used in the sauna. Note: metal water bottles are not suitable for use inside the sauna.
DO NOT fuel the fire using any of the following: propane, butane, gasoline, diesel, starting fluid, or any other flammable liquids or gases.
Do not spray extremely cold water on the front or sides of the stove or on the stove-top rocks, as this will cause a rapid internal temperature increase and potential steam burns.
Do not rest any part of your body on the stove guard; metal surfaces are hot and may cause burns.
Operation of stove / heat source
Use only natural fire-starter sticks/logs, tinder, kindling and firewood in the stove. No other fire materials are permitted in the Harvia sauna stove. Newspaper shreds are allowed to start the kindling.
All stove surfaces are hot and can cause burns. Use the metal curl handle and stove tool provided to lift the stove access, load firewood and adjust the bottom tray for oxygen flow. Hot surfaces include: the exterior metal stove and surrounding protective flashing, interior stove surfaces and hot rocks, interior/exterior chimney flue surfaces, and anything metal within the sauna.
Only clean water is to be poured on the sauna rocks. All other liquids are prohibited.
The sauna interior is vented for natural air movement. If internal temperatures become uncomfortable, open the sauna vent located to the upper right of the door, open the door to release any excess heat or smoke, or remove yourself from the sauna. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER throughout your sauna experience.
Equipment agreement / cleaning fee
By signing this agreement, the Renter accepts full responsibility for the care of the equipment they are renting (sauna, stove, trailer and all sauna accessories) and is responsible for any damage, beyond regular wear and tear, caused by its use.
The Renter agrees to pay for any damage to the equipment, and to replace the equipment at full retail value if it is lost or stolen. Both the Renter and the Owner/Releasee have inspected the equipment to confirm it is in good condition on the date of this agreement.
The Renter understands that a cleaning fee of $250 CAD (plus applicable taxes) may be charged at the discretion of the Owner/Releasee if the sauna and trailer are left in an unreasonably unclean condition.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations made 28 or more days before the booking start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 15 and 27 days before the booking start date will receive a 50% refund, or you may call to rebook free of charge. Cancellations made within 14 days of the booking start date are non-refundable.
Minors (under 19) and additional guests
Minors (anyone under the age of 19) are not allowed in the sauna while the wood stove is in use unless accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult.
Additional guests not accounted for during booking are not permitted to use the sauna without signing the “RENTAL AGREEMENT AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISK.” Please advise Whistler Sauna Rentals Inc. so that we may provide the necessary forms.
By signing this agreement, the Renter assumes all liability and risk for additional guests who have not completed the forms above, as well as for their education on safe use and best practices.
Mobile sauna drop-off and pick-up times
Sauna Sessions: Whistler will always do our best to deliver and pick up on time. Typical drop-off time is on or near 6:00 p.m., and typical pick-up time is 4:30 p.m.
Sauna delivery requires a solid, flat surface (i.e. a driveway) that can be safely accessed by the delivery truck of at minimum of 4metres in length and 3 metres in width. It must also be at minimum 3metres away from any building or combustible surface with 6metres of clearance to any tree branches. For your safety, Whistler Sauna Rentals Inc. reserves the right to refuse the rental if there is no safe place to leave the sauna.
Once the sauna trailer has been delivered the Renter shall neither move it on the property nor to another location.
Safety markings and signs
By signing this agreement, you agree to abide by all sauna safety placards and markings.
Fire extinguisher use
By signing this agreement, the undersigned agrees that they have been briefed on fire extinguisher operation using the instructions on the extinguisher located on the sauna/trailer unit.
Fire restrictions
The Renter agrees to comply with any open-fire bans or restrictions issued by the BC Wildfire Service, the Resort Municipality of Whistler, or other local authorities in effect during the rental period. Whistler Sauna Rentals Inc. may cancel, postpone or end a rental if a fire restriction prohibits use of the wood stove.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
